More Redwoods…

Filed under: Uncategorized — Liz @ 12:53 pm

We got to take a few walks through the forests- truly a cathedral of nature. Our pant legs got very soggy with evergreen needles and we had to make lots of noise on the trail to (supposedly) ward off mountain lions. We saw a dead baby dinosaur on the trail but I was to freaked out by it to take a picture. Seriously, this one was real!

To the Redwood Forests…

The Northern California Redwood forests were one of the most beautiful places we’ve been. How rare to actually be able to approach a living thing 3000 times your size and stand right beside it.

Our September Winner!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Liz @ 10:35 pm

William Wallace, currently a Brooklynite and formerly my Atlanta housemate, was our September winner for Most-Frequently-Commenting blog reader. He won a rare commemorative Yellowstone scenic mug with his name embossed in soy-based non-toxic black ink. Who knows what October’s prize will be? Whoever comments the most will find out!

Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area

Because of our schedule, we only stopped and ate a scenic picnic lunch here- no time for climbing up and rolling back down. Very beautiful!

Oregon!

We’re in Pennsylvania now but I must post pictures of all the great people we saw and things we did in Oregon and Northern California. Below you is a picture of Multnomah Falls, OR, a very popular hike for the Bierwirth family and for active Oregonians in general. According to informative placards- it is the 2nd highest waterfall in the US- what’s the first?
