closing date for our new place! We’ll start unpacking Wednesday, September
1.

Road Trip!

My last day of school was July 1st and a few days later we hit the road and
avoided the worst of last week’s heat wave by traveling north to New
Hampshire. New England was also experiencing temperatures in the high 90′s,
but I say it’s always better to be staying in a shaded house a few hundred
yards from a lake than sweating it out in a one-bedroom in Brooklyn! Added
bonuses were visits with the Hanover NH Bittingers, long walks through the
woods in the morning while it was still cool and lots of dips in the lake.

Feeling nostalgic for South Africa!

I’m loving this year’s world cup. Mainly because there have been so many
dramatic matches but also for the little bits of South African scenery and
culture that occasionally makes it into the coverage. South Africa, and
especially Cape Town, was one of our favorite places we visited on our trip.
Below, dinner in Cape Town last April with a Hanoverian acquaintance and
friends.

So, yeah. One of these puppies ended up coming home with us. She is Mouse
and we love her. She will do whatever she is told to do- eat, sleep,
rollover, you name it. She is eager to hear your request!

Parkinson’s Unity Walk

On a beautiful Sunday last month, Amy, Jane, Will Lauren and I walked to
raise money to fight Parkinson’s disease. The day was filed with memories of
doing the same walk in April of 2002 with Aunt Margie and a very large crew
of supporters. The 2002 crew was with us in spirit. We love you, Margie!

Girls Gone Wild

The “Hilton Grand Vacations Sea World” experience was a great time, even
though Lauren and I were conscientious objectors and skipped the actual Sea
World. Lots of quality time sitting by the pool, reading, dancing and
participating in activities like build-a-bear and dive-in movie. I fit in a
trip to Tampa to reconnect with an old friend. Below, Amy and Sarah
celebrate their birthdays.
